Guided Fishing

A guided fishing trip is truly a special way to spend the day on the White River.  A professional guide knows the river. He knows how to maneuver the shoals.  He recognizes changing conditions.  He knows where the best fish are hiding.  He knows how to find and catch the big Browns.  He knows how to make the day entertaining and enjoyable while maneuvering his boat on the river.

A guided fishing trip usually starts early, while there may still be fog covering the river.  The guide will have everything needed for a successful day of fishing including equipment, bait and tackle, a clean and comfortable boat, and cold drinks.  After a quick assessment of skills and desires, you will be out of the dock and onto the river.  The guide can help with baiting, casting, and successfully bringing in your catch.

All fishing trips from the White Hole Resort are local, that is the trip starts at our dock and ends at out dock.  You don’t spend any time riding to or being brought back from another location.  You are never too far away so that you could not come back to your cabin if you need to for any reason during the day.  A half-day guided fishing trip will bring you back to the White Hole Resort dock about 4 hours after you start.  A full-day trip will last about 8 hours.

Cold sodas and water are provided with a day of guided fishing, but no meals unless specifically requested in advance.  We can provide a complete deli-style sandwich lunch that your guide can take out with you.  However, if you prefer, the guide can bring you back to your cabin for lunch or you are welcome to pack a lunch for yourself.

The White Hole Resort is very selective about the guides we use.  These are all men that have proven themselves to meet high standards of professionalism while making your day very successful and enjoyable.

Many of our guides are very proficient with fly fishing as well as spin fishing.  Some guides exclusively fly fish.  Since fly fishing requires additional skills and knowledge, rates for fly fishing are higher than spin fishing.  Refer to the chart below for specific information.

Guided fishing trips include guide, spinning rods, boat, motor, and fuel.  Guides will fish rain or shine, hot or cold weather.  Pricing does not include licenses, bait, lures, flies, or meals, though these can all be provided.  Fly rods or waders are not available.
